At Moya Ashé, Inc., we bring mindfulness, movement, arts, and wellness into community to advance health equity and enrich individual and collective life. Rooted in Africultural healing and education, we center Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities, with special attention to LGBTQ+ and disabled people.
We welcome everyone excited to learn, heal, and contribute through these methods while honoring the communities at the heart of the work. We are building opportunities for people to practice, create, recover, and experience Africultural belonging together. We invite you to help carry this mission into community through participation, volunteering, and giving.
Moya means breath, air, wind, and spirit, unified; Ashé names the generative life-force carried through breath, word, art, rite, and relationship that brings change into form. These meanings shape our vision of an arts and social change nonprofit with non-hierarchical cooperative governance where Africulturally rooted wellness and recovery have a lasting home.
Our work draws from Mindful Soul Practice, developed by Dr. Wil Oliver, and carries forward a commitment to universal human rights, belonging, economic solidarity, and collective care. We begin online, expand through in-person gatherings, and work toward a physical sanctuary operated by and for the communities we serve. Africultural specificity, accessibility, attentive service, and accountability guide how we build.
“Show up, do your work well, treat people with care, and recognize the humanity of those receiving your attention.”
Our programs bring meditation, mindful movement, arts, and community practice together around Africulturally rooted healing and recovery. Through charitable support, we are preparing to make funded participation in our initial offerings available to community members.
Meditation as homecoming
Meditation begins with breath, ancestral relationship, and the knowledge people carry in their bodies, lineages, and communities. Within Mindful Soul Practice, Africultural history and belonging shape how we are with breath, sensation, memory, and spirit.
Mindful movement honors embodied knowing through breathwork, stillness, gesture, and movement in community. We are building space for movement that honors body, spirit, and community together.
Spoken word, music, visual art, storytelling, and community ritual create opportunities to claim our narratives and carry Africultural memory into social change. Our purpose is sustained space for people to create, recognize one another, and build collective possibility through their art.
Turning community purpose into community programming.
We are preparing to make funded participation in these offerings available through charitable support. Your contribution helps create opportunities for learning, Africultural connection, creative expression, and wellbeing.

Community in practice
The Imago Circle
The Imago Circle extends this work through monthly online gatherings, a newsletter, and a private Signal group centered on aliveness, ancestral memory, recovery, and creative truth-telling. Rooted in palaver, indaba, Ubuntu, and Buddhist wisdom, the circle cultivates non-hierarchical community through speaking, listening, collective discernment, and equanimity.
Our long-term vision is a healing house where resident mindfulness practitioners, a movement studio, an herbalist apothecary, peer respite, arts, and community practice share a permanent home. We begin online, expand through in-person gatherings, and work toward a physical sanctuary operated by and for the communities we serve.
Volunteer and leadership
Help shape what grows here.
We are seeking people internationally who can contribute skills in conflict resolution, non-hierarchical organizational governance, business, technology, finance, legal work, and other areas relevant to our nonprofit mission.
We welcome people who can bring time, skills, and community knowledge to the work as it grows. Whether your interests are in programs, arts, outreach, organizing, or other ways of building community, tell us what you would like to contribute. We will connect with volunteers as opportunities take shape.
Your ongoing support helps bring mindfulness, movement, arts, and wellness into community through Africultural healing and education. We welcome your investment in health equity, Africultural belonging, and lasting places for Black, Brown, and Indigenous healing.
Contributions help make funded participation possible and build the capacity to sustain our charitable work. Your participation helps turn community purpose into community programming and carries our vision of a permanent healing home forward.
